Work Tips Tuesday: Surviving The Holiday Work Party

Most workplaces have a yearly holiday party that can be shared by workers that gives each employee time to enjoy one another and the holiday season.  Some individuals may dread the festivities or they may delight in the chance to have some fun with their co workers.  Here are some tips to get you through the holiday work party this year:

  • Have fun, but stay professional.  Have fun and savor the party, but remember you are still in the company of your bosses and peers.  There’s a time and place to have a blast, but keep it clean.  Believe it or not, your actions are remembered the next day!

  • Give small gifts of gratitude.  Thinking of the boss at this time of year is always appreciated.  No need to spend a ton of money, but remember them with something special you know they would like and appreciate.

  • Bring something fun.  Bring something yummy to the party if you are having a potluck function.  Everyone likes baked goodies and comfort food anytime of the year and your contribution will be well liked.

  • Blowing it off.  Whatever you do – don’t blow off the party unless you are   sick.  Make the effort and show up with a good attitude and your boss and co workers will love the fact that you showed up.

Go ahead, go to the holiday party!  Remember to take everything in moderation and be on your best behavior!  To read more career advice articles like these please go to www.pharmacytechnician.org
