Will You Call a ‘Doctor On Demand?’ 

The invention of the Smart Phone, iphone, and tablet enables us to discover and accomplish many different things and also helps us live better lives.  In addition, new technology also enables us to take advantage of better health resources.  Recently, a new app has launched in the iphone itunes store and Google Play store.  Doctor on Demand lets patients speak with a real U.S. doctor via their Smart Phone, iphone, or tablet.  In the future, Doctor On Demand will be available to use with everyday laptops, but for now it is just available for use with iphones, Smart Phones, and tablets. 

            Signing up for Doctor on Demand is free and takes only minutes to do.  No subscription or hidden fees are involved.  Patients only pay when they speak to a doctor to the tune of $40.00 for 15 minutes.   

            Doctor on Demand can save time for busy patients and individuals wishing to avoid the dreaded and crowded waiting rooms of physicians’ offices.  There are, however, some limitations to the service in terms of prescribing.  Medications which are not prescribed via audio and video chat are:  controlled substances, narcotics, opioids, particular muscle relaxants, certain sedatives, drugs that must be monitored on a regular basis, injections, and drugs that require training in order to use them.  Also included in the list are oncology drugs and some psychiatric pharmaceuticals.  Physicians may be reached from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m (central time) and the Doctor on Demand app may be downloaded by going to  Have you used Doctor on Demand yet?  Do you think there will ever be a Pharmacist on Demand?
