BREAKING NEWS

Can you spare 5 minutes to help NPTA in our fight to reduce medication errors
and standardize our profession?

Today Oprah aired a special on medical mistakes, featuring actor Dennis Quaid and , Oprah show regular, Dr. Oz.

NPTA is working hard across the United States on introducing and passing legislation, referred to as Emily's Law, to help eliminate medication errors through the effective utilization of certified pharmacy technicians. Our goal is to ensure that pharmacy technicians complete a standardized education/training program, pass an NCCA-accredited national certification exam and become registered.

Unfortunately, the chain pharmacies/retail federation and other lobbying organizations are ready to outspend and outlobby our efforts...for the sole purpose of saving money and ensuring that pharmacy technicians do not become recognized professionals.

Here is how you can help - TODAY!

1. Go to www.oprah.com and create a free user account.

2. Go to http://www.oprah.com/community/thread/102762?start=15&tstart=0 and post a message of the forum related to today's show. Share your thoughts on the lack of standardization for pharmacy technicians...and how NPTA (National Pharmacy Technician Association) is fighting the large corporate chains that are more interested in their balance sheets than on patient safety. Be sure to specifically mention Emily's Law and NPTA.

With your help, we can raise awareness of our efforts to one of the largest and most influential audiences in America.
