On Tuesday, July 17, 2007, the Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy will be reviewing PROPOSED REVISIONS to Chapter 10 of the Wyoming Pharmacy Act pertaining to PHARMACY TECHNICIAN REGULATIONS.
The Wyoming SBOP is considering mandatory, standardized education as a requirement for NEW pharmacy technicians, to take effect in 2010. The Board has approved these regulations in the past...only to see Governor Dave Freudenthal VETO the provision.
Powerful lobbying groups have capitalized on the turmoil in an effort to block the SBOP from re-approving these regulations. WE NEED YOUR HELP!
1. Please e-mail the Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy indicating your SUPPORT of the proposed revisions. Let them know that you will be contacting the Governor to express your support, as well. Be sure to include your name and title...and your address if you live in Wyoming. Address this e-mail to Mr. Randolph A. Harrop, RPh, Board President at firstname.lastname@example.org You can also contact the SBOP via phone at 307-234-0294 or fax at 307-234-7226.
2. Please e-mail the Governor of Wyoming
, Dave Freudenthal, expressing your SUPPORT of the proposed revisions
on pharmacy technician regulations and DISSATISFACTION with his prior VETO
. Be sure to include your name and title...and your address if you live in Wyoming
. Address this e-mail to Governor Dave Freudenthal at email@example.com
3. Please send a quick e-mail to NPTA letting us know of your actions. This will allow us to better track the response. E-mail NPTA at firstname.lastname@example.org
with a subject line of WY SBOP.
NPTA will be issuing official correspondence to both the SBOP and Governor's Office, in addition to testifying via teleconference for the upcoming Board meeting. We will keep you posted on this situation.
