Urgent Update on Emily's Law- Help Needed
On Monday, April 6, 2009 the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy will be meeting to review the recommendations on interpretation and adoption of Emily's Law.
From the beginning, the intent of Emily's Law was clear - pharmacy technicians would be required to complete one of the two nationally accredited certification exams (PTCB or ExCPT).
Unfortunately, the State Board of Pharmacy has been tainted by the business interests of the chain pharmacies. It appears that the Board intends to permit individual, employer based exams as an equal alternative to national certification. We can not allow corruption to overturn such important legislation.
We need your help TODAY!
Please email the State Board of Pharmacy voicing your expectation that they exclusively approve the PTCB and ExCPT national certification exams. Please include your name and credentials - if live in Ohio, please include your city/state - otherwise please omit.
Make sure that you send your e-mail to EACH of the following:
CC (carbon copy your message)
exec@bop.state.oh.us
licensing@bop.state.oh.us
Mark.Keeley@bop.ohio.gov
mikej@pharmacytechnician.org
Please understand that this legislation impacts you regardless of whether you live in the State of Ohio or not! Our success in Ohio will allow us to more effectively get legislation passed in your state. We can not do this without your help. Please send this ASAP (before Monday morning).
