Goals & Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians will be able to:
•Explain the different categories of hearing loss: deaf, hard-of-hearing, deaf-blind
•Identify communication barriers present in the pharmacy setting
•Demonstrate basic ASL signs
•Challenge pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to step outside the norm and intentionally engage with a unique community- the deaf and heard of hearing community.
